Do you have candle care instructions & tips?
Yes, we do. We include a candle care card in every candle order.
Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting. Keep your candle free from foreign objects and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn your candle for less or more than 4 hours at a time. Stop using it when only 1/4" to 1/2" of wax remains. Place your candle in a smaller space such as an office, bathroom or bedroom to achieve a stronger scent. Do not move candle while it is burning. The vessel may be very hot to the touch. Please wait to move the candle once its vessel has cooled down.
What does it mean when a candle is tunneling? Is there a way to fix it?
Candle tunneling occurs when a candle burns unevenly, creating a deep, narrow hole in the middle while leaving a ring of unburned wax around the edges.
Insufficient Burn Time on the First Use:
If you blow the candle out too soon, only a small portion of the wax melts in the center, leaving the outer edges not melted. The next time you light the candle, the flame will only burn the middle portion of the wax, creating a "tunnel" in the center, while the unburned wax around the edge remains. This creates a cycle where the candle keeps tunneling deeper and deeper with each use.
Temperature and Drafts
External factors, like temperature and drafts, can also play a role in tunneling. A drafty environment or temperature fluctuations can cause the candle to burn unevenly, affecting how the wax melts around the wick.
How to Prevent Tunneling:
Trim the wick: Regularly trim the wick to about 1/4 inch to keep the flame controlled and to promote an even burn.
Burn in a stable environment: Keep your candle in an area without drafts and at a consistent temperature to encourage even melting.
Avoid burning too long: If you burn a candle for too long, the heat can get excessive and cause uneven burning. Generally, it's best not to burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
**Please note: with our natural coconut soy blended wax the first 4-hour burn may have approximately 1/8” of wax hung up along the inside circumference of the vessel. Typically, the next 4-hour interval burns, a full wax pool will develop. Please allow the candle to cool for about 45 to 60 minutes to allow the wax to cool, then relight the candle for it’s next 4-hour burn.

What are wet spots?
We wanted to give you a heads up on what we call wet spots you may see in our 9.5 oz clear glass candle vessels offered in our Chakra Collection.
If you are seeing wax pull away from the glass, this is the wax naturally contracting due to a cooler environment. Yes, we could put a synthetic additive to our coconut soy wax, but we want to offer more of a natural product. Also, we love to see the beautiful flame of the candle versus hiding it behind a ceramic or obscure vessel. Wet spots do not affect the performance of the candle.
*Tip: warming up the sides of the glass vessel with a hair dryer to get the wax to expand will help the wax settle back against the glass, which will improve the aesthetics of the candle.
*Note: photos shown above do not have labels on the glass vessels. Our labels will help disguise wet spots if they occur.
If you rather not see wet spots, we offer a 6 oz. travel tin vessel, where wet spots are unseen.
We appreciate your understanding and trust in our company.
